Ingredients:
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
3/4 lb flat iron steak
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
1 C onion, diced
1 C green bell pepper, diced
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 C mayonnaise
4 oz. shredded sharp provolone cheese, plus extra for the top
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F degrees.
Heat a skillet over medium high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the oil. Add steak.
Season with salt and pepper.
Sear for 4-5 minutes on the first side, or until it has browned.
Flip the steak over and cook another 4-5 minutes on the second side.
Remove from pan and let rest 5-10 minutes before cutting.
Sauté onion and bell pepper until tender.
Cut the steak, against the grain, into thin slices, then dice the steak slices.
In a medium baking dish, mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, and provolone.
Stir in steak and onion mixture.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese starts to brown.
