Ingredients:
Serves 6
5 C cherries, pitted
1/2 C water
1 1/4 C sugar
4 Tbsp cornstarch
1 C flour
3 Tbsp butter, chilled
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 C milk
1 tsp white vinegar
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 F degrees.
In a saucepan, mix cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and water. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low, and cook for 10 minutes, or until thickened.
Pour into an 8x8 baking dish.
In a small bowl, add flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.
Cut in butter with a pastry cutter or two forks, forming pea-sized chunks.
Mix milk and vinegar in a separate bowl. Pour into flour mixture. Stir to Combine.
Drop the milk/flour mix, in approximately 9 large spoonfuls, so it's evenly distributed over the cherry mix.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
